Comic Pick of the Week (August 20, 2014)

It’s been a busy week, but also a light one on my wallet at the comic store.  There was one book, and one book alone I was gunning for this week. ..

Star Wars: Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir #4

The epic conclusion to the four part story based on unreleased episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars is now available.  Will the final fate of Darth Maul be revealed?  What of Mother Talsin?  Well, if you’ve picked up all four parts you know the answer by now, and if you haven’t….well you can get the collected story in October in TPB form!

In other Star Wars news, we also got a release date for the new animated series on Disney XD.  I’ve seen the first seven minutes of the episode along with a few other clips and some behind the scenes artwork, and The Force is strong in this one!  It may not be a comic, but I’d bet my credits that there will be down the road.

I do wish they would finish up all the unreleased episodes of Clone Wars though…

  1. Did you see the Netflix only season? Actually very nice and provides closure to the series.

  2. I don’t want to speak for Rob, but I have a strong suspicion he was all over this series. Will let him comment on this one himself when he gets back online. -Chris 🙂

  3. Yes, I saw “The Lost Missions” the day they became available, and while they certainly advanced several key aspects of the story it was far from closure. They’ll be available on November 20th on DVD/Blu-Ray in German, so I would imagine we will see them in English before the holidays too.

If you go to http://www.starwars.com/tv-shows/the-clone-wars-legacy you can see three more unfinished episodes that advance another key story arc along with some other cool behind the scenes stuff. I am hopeful that someday we get them all in a finished format.

The Force is strong in Star Wars Rebels though. Just watched the first episode on Friday and loved it!
